Party Decoration Guide

It seems that you have a party to plan. Take a quick look at our guide to help you through your preparations.

Balloon decorations are a must for any party and are a fantastic way to pull your colours scheme together. They come in a variety of styles and materials including latex suitable for air fill and helium and foil balloons.

If you are using air fill balloons make sure that the balloons you are using are not specifically designed for use with helium as the image or text will appear upside down. Never a good look!

If you are buying balloons to inflate with helium, like with air fill balloons, double check that they are designed to be used with helium.

Things you will need for helium filled balloons:

Balloons, Helium, Curling Ribbon, Balloon Weights

Top Tip: Helium will last for approximately 12 - 20 hours so make sure that you do the balloons on the day and as late as possible otherwise they may have deflated by the time your guests arrive. If you do not have time to inflate them the same day as the party you will need to buy Hi-float which is a treatment designed to make the balloons float for longer.

How many balloon bouquets will I need?

When considering your balloon decor you need to consider a few things.

The size of the room, you don't want to hire a small room and overload it with balloons, it can look far too crowed and like wise you don't to hire a huge function room and it look bare!

Think about the number and size of the tables.

Larger function rooms generally have 6ft round tables which would look great with balloons on every table where as your local social club might have small round or rectangle pub tables, you only really need one set of balloons per 2 or 3 tables.

We recommend you opt for a simple display of three balloons. They are affordable and effective, what more could you ask for...

Other party decorations you might need

Banners are essential. For any guests who may have forgotten which party they are attending, a banner will make the penny drop. They come in all sizes from large personalised banners, to long pennant banners to small foil ones and cover a multitude of occasions.

Top Tip: Always use a re-usable adhesive such as white tack to fix your banners to the wall. It is easy to use and won't leave any marks.

Confetti and Sprinkles will add colour and sparkle to your tables. Table confetti is available for most occasions such as birthdays, anniversary, engagement, wedding, hen party, retirement, good luck, Christening, Communion, Christmas and much more.

Top Tip: Check with your venue or function room that you are allowed to scatter table confetti. If they do, great, just count the tables and allow one bag per 2 or 3 tables.

Table covers are perfect for covering up unsightly tables or simply to coordinate the room. Plastic table covers are far more durable than paper and are less likely to rip if drinks are spilt on them. One of our favourite ways to dress a table is to cover the table with a plastic table cover and add a contrasting paper square over the top.

Top Tip: For small tables you can get away with using one pack of covers for 2 tables (paper covers have a perforation mark to separate them whereas plastic covers will need cutting)
